Cataloguing to know and protect

We are setting up a school for teaching architectural photogrammetry via Internet channel.
The purpose is to collect and classify the historical centres and monuments of Apulia, after the results and decisions of CIPA in its first meeting held in Paris on last June 18th -19th 1970.
We welcome any suggestions and co-operation offers. For information and assents please contact:

WHAT IS CIPA ?

CIPA (INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAMMETRY) is one of the international committees of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). It was set up in conjunction with the International Society for Photogrammetry.

WHY PHOTOGRAMMETRY ?

Photogrammetry applied to the survey of historic monuments and sites offers the quickest, the best and often the only possible solution.

WHAT IS PHOTOGRAMMETRY ?

PHOTOGRAMMETRY is the technique of making accurate measurements of an "object" by means of photography: photographs provide perspective views of this object. We are interested here in using this technique on architectural features.
Only photography can give us such a complete and accurate perspective view. To use it, however, we must know very accurately the details of the geometry of the camera and take photographs with a specially constructed camera.
